Literacy
At Hazelbury Bryan School, we try to develop pupils' abilities to communicate effectively in writing and speech, and to listen with understanding. English includes reading for pleasure, comprehension, speaking and listening, writing in different styles where grammar, punctuation, spelling and redrafting skills are taught, together with handwriting and reference skills. Language is very much a cross-curricular subject, which enables children to communicate accurately and fluently through their use of written and spoken English in all areas of the curriculum.
We also have rolling programmes for each of our mixed aged classes.
