What is happening in Eagles this Summer Term

Well here it is, the busy summer term that we all love. A term full of lots of learning, swimming and the school production.

This term in topic we are exploring Robots. This topic has been chosen by the children and will be a very practical topic. At the end of last term we looked at the history of Robotics and made our very own robots out of cardboard. This term we will be creating our very own robot face, using our scientific knowledge on circuits to make them as creative as possible. Watch this space!

In literacy we are learning how to write a mystery/horror story. We have decided to link this with our topic, therefore we aim to write an exciting story that includes our robots!

In Maths we are embedding our learning especially in fractions, decimals and percentages. The Year 6 children are continuing in the preparation for their SATs test and are attending early morning maths boosters.

Mrs Gillibrand is continuing to teach us about the human body, and one of our parents who is a nurse, will be teaching us a few first aid skills. After half term we will then be learning about classification.

In PE we are working on improving our athletic development within weekly athletics lessons. We will also be playing cricket and rounders.

From June the Eagles will be swimming, visiting the SNHS for sporting and curriculum events and fitting in lots of rehearsal for this year’s production.
