On Monday we had another session on our pencil cases, they are coming together nicely with lots of decoration on them. Just need to check when we sew them up our pencils don’t fall out. Lots of conversations about product design changes.

In PHSE we worked together to design a machine to do different tasks. A great chance for compromise.

In Maths we have been working on our times tables and in Literacy we have been writing newspaper reports.

This week we started making our pencil cases. It was tricky to thread our needles but we kept going and started decorating them. We had to think about where the top of the pencil case would close so that we didn’t cover up the decorations. Some of us have had to adapt our original plans.

In Maths y4 have been measuring the perimeter and y3 have been working on multiplication. Keep on practising those tables please.

In Literacy we have been making up our own game shows while thinking about instructions.

This week was our final Forest School session for this term. (Mrs De Bardi will let you know plans for PE soon). We enjoyed ‘planting’ our seed bombs, making a bug hotel, decorating leaves and thinking about what we have enjoyed this term and making pictures with charcoal. We also got to roast apples on the fire - yum! Thank you to the families that helped bring in things for our bug hotel.

We have been continuing with addition and subtraction in Maths and in Literacy have been practising some grammar. In Science we made games to practice the things we have learnt this half term.

In Literacy this week we have been making trailers for the Tin Forest, on the computer, trying to give enough of the story but not too much to make others interested. In art we have been creating collages of Dorset landmarks. In Science we did a quiz to see what we had learnt about states of matter.

In Forest school, (in the rain again), we did some weeding for a new wild flower bed, some leaf painting and making wildflower seed bombs for the new flower bed. In maths we have been adding and subtracting.

In PHSE this week we talked about problem solving. I gave them 10 problems and they worked together to solve them. They were brilliant, lots of different ideas.

In Forest school, despite the rain, we make potions, cakes (out of mud), did weaving and also made different things out of clay.

In Literacy we made finger puppets and re told the story of the Tin Forest using our puppets. In Maths we have been adding and subtracting hundreds, tens and ones.

In Science we have looked at the water cycle.

We had a great start to the week, in Forest School we made shelters and thought about what we would need to survive. We then tested our shelters to make sure they would protect us from the rain! All the shelters were waterproof - phew!

We are continuing our work on the Tin Forest and enjoying thinking about the old man’s wishes.

In Maths Y3 have started looking at addition and subtraction and Y4 are finishing off their work on place value.

In Science we have been learning how water changes state. This week boiling the kettle, carrying on from last week with ice.
